ESHIA Screening and Scoping for Block O, Cabinda Gulf Oil Company Limited (CABGOC), Offshore Angola.

Under a multisite technical services program with CABGOC, E & E provided qualified facilitator (QEF) services for the environmental, social and health impact assessment (ESHIA) screening and scoping processes for several projects in Block “0,” offshore from Cabinda Province, Republic of Angola, southwestern Africa. Recently, E & E completed a project for the Southern Molongo Area Development (SMAD), Greater Vanza Logui Area (GVLA), NEMBA, and LIFUA projects, designed to expand existing oil and gas production facilities in Angola offshore Block 0.

E & E’s QEF initially led a two-day screening workshop for SMAD, GVLA, NEMBA, and LIFUA projects to evaluate the potential environmental, social, and health impacts associated with each project.  E & E developed ESHIA screening profile reports describing the key issues and possible impacts of each project.  We prepared additional ESHIA scoping workshops to further evaluate the key environmental, social, and health impact issues.  The work included compilation of site-specific supporting information and identification of additional field studies and other research that could enhance project decision zmaking and assist in developing the EIA for each project.  E & E worked with project teams to evaluate Angolan government requirements and internal client guidance designed to minimize potential adverse environmental, social, and health impacts.
