Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG)/Offshore
Significant time and costs are required to develop LNG facilities and bring new natural gas supplies to market, so permitting delays are costly. E & E has proven its ability to help companies rapidly obtain government approvals—achieving six LNG import terminal licenses in the past five years. Our understanding of operational requirements for liquefaction, regasification, and terminal facilities enable us to help design facilities with minimal environmental, safety, and socioeconomic impacts and thereby reduce regulatory, political, and social opposition and delay.
Projects
Cabrillo Port Offshore LNG Import Terminal, California
Prepared the EIS/EIR and independent risk assessment for US Coast Guard and State of California for licensing, construction, and operation of this proposed LNG deepwater port. Completed, translated to Spanish, and distributed the draft EIS/EIR within just 10 months of contract award.
Environmental Permitting for Broadwater LNG Import Terminal, New York
Conducted environmental studies, prepared the FERC application, and negotiated permits for this highly complex floating LNG terminal and 22-mile offshore pipeline in Long Island Sound. As part of the fieldwork, used innovative vibracore and cone penetrometer techniques to perform offshore sediment sampling.
Proposed Tractebel Bahamas LNG Import Terminal, Bahamas
Performed environmental surveys and prepared the EIA for construction and operation of the proposed onshore LNG terminal and 54-mile offshore gas pipeline. Worked closely with local Bahamian authorities and specialists to incorporate ideas and local knowledge into the EIA process.
Freeport LNG Terminal, Texas
Conducted permitting investigations and consultations and prepared the FERC application for the first new onshore LNG import terminal to be built in the United States in 20 years.
