Solar

Solar

While the current contribution of solar energy resources is relatively small, this renewable energy technology is beginning to take off. A recent decline in cost to develop solar energy, coupled with an emphasis on clean, domestic energy development and predictions that renewable energy will supply upwards of 60% of the world's energy by the year 2060, tell us that sustained growth in solar energy development will be increasingly important as we look to supply clean domestic power within the United States in the coming years.

To meet the growing demand for solar and other forms of renewable energy, E & E partners with energy developers to provide strategic consulting services; conduct solar intensity studies; perform natural, biological, and cultural resource assessments; identify state and federal compliance issues concerning solar facility construction and operation; prepare environmental documentation and permit applications; and perform due diligence assessments to support project finance and acquisition.

Photovoltaic (PV) Solar Project, Florida
E & E is preparing environmental documentation required under NEPA to construct a large-scale, 10-MW, solar energy facility at a confidential site in Florida. We are currently preparing an EA to assess two alternative sites as well as alternative electrical transmission interconnection ROWs. The EA will evaluate land use changes and potential impacts to wetlands and T&E species on two alternative sites that are currently in use by the citrus industry. Construction of the project is expected to require approximately nine months.

Huerfano County Solar and Wind Farm, Colorado
For Sunrise Enterprise Renewable Energy Development, performing site characterization analysis and a delineation of permit requirements for 30,000 acres at several noncontiguous locations. Proposed energy development facility will render up to 5 MW of PV solar energy and 20 MW of wind power. Conducting a habitat and wildlife assessment, wetlands delineation, and a land use impacts analysis. Providing strategic permitting guidance with respect to County 1041 permitting.

Siting Analysis for Potential PV Solar Project, California Desert
Conducted a siting analysis to help a confidential client choose between four potential sites for a large-scale PV solar project. Currently completing the BLM's SF 299 application.

GIS/Mapping Support for PV Solar Project, California
For a PV solar energy development project in the California desert, providing GIS and mapping services for site maps and visual simulations needed for BLM consultation and public meetings. Initiating environmental studies and completion of an SF 299 application to BLM.

BLM Jarbidge Resource Management Plan/EIS, Idaho and Nevada
Working closely with BLM staff to develop a scientifically based, multiple-use land use strategy for the BLM Jarbidge Field Office, which includes evaluation of decisions related to right-of-way designations, and solar and wind sites.
