The worldwide desire to develop alternative energy is stimulating explosive growth in the wind energy market. E & E has direct experience providing strategic consulting to wind energy developers. In fact, our team has collectively worked on more than 50 wind energy projects in the United States. E & E provides environmental consulting services, conducts environmental assessments, prepares environmental documentation and permit applications, and performs due diligence assessments for wind energy projects.

Projects

Shiloh I Wind Farm, California
Prepared the third-party Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for a new, 180-MW wind energy facility that Shiloh Wind Partners, LLC (owned by enXco, Inc.) proposed to develop in a rural portion of Solano County. Prepared EIR under California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) process to identify and evaluate project impacts on environmental resources. Key concerns included avian and bat mortality, visual resources, noise, and land use issues.

Noble Environmental Power Wind Farm Sites, New York
Conducted comprehensive environmental permitting and documentation for 11 proposed wind farm projects. Organized field visits, met with client and agency representatives, prepared fatal flaw analysis documentation, and made a final presentation to the client. Also prepared New York State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQR) applications and supporting documents for three potential sites.

Arcadia/Bluewater Wind Offshore Wind Farm, New York
Provided preliminary turbine site selection and cable routing for a proposed 100- to 140-MW offshore wind farm. Developed a permitting plan and designed a program to assess the project's environmental impacts.

Greenlight Energy Wind Farm, Colorado
Assisted BP Alternative Energy in the permitting of a 300-MW wind farm and associated 75-mile transmission line. Conducted a Phase I environmental site assessment, desktop data collection, and wetland and riparian area surveys across the proposed wind farm and transmission line site.

Galapagos Wind Energy Farm, San Cristobal Island, Galapagos
Working with Walsh Environmental's Ecuador office, prepared an environmental and social impact assessment (ESIA) and an environmental management plan (EMP) for a 2.5-MW wind project intended to reduce the demand for diesel power on the island. The ESIA also addressed concerns for visual and aesthetic impacts for tourists, noise, and impacts on habitat in construction areas.

Comments from past clients

"I cannot stress enough to you what an important role your team has played in the project implementation by providing community outreach services, EMP monitoring, archaeological monitoring, and development of the wind project's website. Your Quito-based team's effort has gone beyond what I have experienced from other consulting groups. I am thankful for their support and wanted you to appreciate what a fantastic job they are doing for us! I look forward to their involvement on the project in the upcoming months as we complete construction and move into operational phase. We see a long-term role for the Walsh Quito team in helping us coordinate a monitoring/ protection program for the endangered Galapagos Petrel." —Jim Tolan, San Cristobal Wind Project Commercial Trust

"The E & E team really came through under the tight time frame to help us accomplish this fast deal. I really appreciate your willingness to help on this project, including working long days and weekends." —Tim Hemig, NRG Energy, LLC

"[The E & E] team did an outstanding job finalizing the addendum and the 1603 application under very tight time requirements, and exhibited amazing grace under pressure." —Kimberly McCormick, Constellation Power, Inc.
