Climate change is happening, and our clients are ready to do something about it. E & E can assess the size of your carbon footprint and help you design innovative solutions to reduce and control your greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. E & E is a Founding Reporter to The Climate Registry (TCR) and an approved offset Aggregator for the Chicago Climate Exchange. We are an automatically approved technical assistance provider and have been approved under the California Energy Commission and California Climate Action Registry's rigorous certifier program.
In addition, power plant developers and public investors are now faced with the additional challenge of positively capturing and storing CO2. We can help you achieve permanent sequestration of CO2 in underground rock formations. Our diverse staff offers a full array of expertise in GHG and climate change technical support, financial analysis, strategy and policy development, health and risk analysis, and legal analysis.
Shell Offshore Platform Inventory, Brazil
For Royal Dutch Shell, provided an inventory of GHG emissions from a 1.7 Mt per year offshore oil and gas production unit and a subsea system made up of injection and production wells, flow lines, umbilicals, pipelines and manifolds. Work involved application of American Petroleum Institute greenhouse gas protocols, and included the quantification of combustion, venting and fugitive emissions and the determination of precision for each estimation approach.
Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. GHG Certification, California
Provided third-party certification of emissions reported to the California Climate Action Registry, who accepted the E & E certification report without qualification.
Waste Coal Power Plant GHG Compliance Assessment
For Marubeni Power International, provided an overview of selected CO2 emission reduction programs and front-running national legislation to guide prediction of the impacts of a future national CO2 reduction requirement on the operation of a new coal-fired power plant.
Carbon Credits Evaluation for Rehabilitation of a Pipeline, Republic of Georgia
For Millennium Challenge Corporation, evaluated carbon credits that might be generated by a proposed $40-million project designed to rehabilitate the North-South natural gas pipeline in a manner that would meet the majority of the country's energy needs while reducing GHG emissions.
March Point Cogeneration Plant GHG Compliance Assessment, Washington
For TransCanada Power, evaluated compliance of this 160-MW cogeneration facility with existing and future proposed GHG regulations. Assessed impacts of the proposed Federal Clear Skies Initiative and Clean Power Act, as well as new state- and local-level GHG requirements implemented by Washington's Energy Facility Site Evaluation council and the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency.
Energy Efficiency and GHG Emission Reduction, Shanxi Environmental Improvement Project, China
For the Asian Development Bank, undertook the environmental and economic analysis of a project involving collection of previously vented methane from a coal mine and its use in a local distribution system. Estimated monetary value of the project's environmental impacts with regard to reduced GHG emissions, reduced air pollution, and improved indoor air quality.
CO2 Storage Study for American Public Gas Association
Performed, in association with our subsidiary, Gustavson Associates, a study on permanently storing CO2 while maximizing the methane (CBC) yield from coalbeds. Study was completed in connection with degasification in advance of mining to reduce emissions to the atmosphere.
Carbon Capture and Sequestration Feasibility Study, Kentucky
Conducted a feasibility study to determine potential for carbon sequestration at a coal-fired power plant in western Kentucky. Provided a comparison of the feasibility of carbon sequestration at the new plant site with an existing site.
"I want to pass on … my appreciation for the support E & E … provided to me in 2005. It was a very challenging year for us at TransCanada and we were successful in part do to the skills, information, and industry knowledge you provided to our team.
